Some bloodwork and observations on thyroid recovery after High dose T3.

#1
In a previous thread someone had talked about tapering off t3 vs stopping cold turkey. And some great anecdotal research was posted about T3 and the best way to come off so to speak.

I just wanted to post my bloods from during and after my only run so far with t3.

Some things I should note, I also was on 500 mgs of dnp at the same time (thats all ill say about that) and cruising on test.

So i had started Taking 75 mcgs daily of T3, all one dose in the a.m. Start date was 7/1

Bloods from 7/23 about halfway through.

As you can see - tsh and t4 were almost non existent. To be expected.

Then on 7/30 I got another set of bloods, it was my last day taking 75 mcgs.

Still pretty low on those fronts.

For the next 5 days i took 12.5 mcgs daily in the am. The research posted had recommended doing this for 2 - 3 weeks, I said fuck it and stopped on the 5th day.

Heres what happened after that, I absolutely rebounded. I gained 6 lbs eating only 1400 calories/day. I had stopped the dnp almost two weeks before this.

And here are my bloods from 8/12

My last dose of t3 was on 8/5 (12.5 mcgs)
Between 8/5 and 8/12 my thyroid had returned in range.
To conclude i think tapering off is a great idea, however if you do stop cold turkey you will rebound but most likely be fine a few weeks later.

Thanks for this man, I really do appreciate you posting this. Hopefully this will help out some of those waffling back and forth between stopping cold turkey or tapering. We need more shit like this posted.

Thanks! I'm on t3 now but plan to quit. Will taper off but also plan to use the yellow stuff at low dose to limit t3 rebound.

During the five days you rebounded eating 1400 a day, were you sitting on your butt all day or pretty active? That's low and to gain all fat is pretty crazy. You think some of that 6 pounds was glycogen and water?

I was doing a PSMF, one meal a day right before bed just so i could sleep. I rode my bike every night for about 10 miles. I basically didnt eat more than 1400 calories and burn less than 500 riding my bike everyday. My one meal a day was 90% protein and 10 % vegetables.

Seems only right that i rebounded despite all my efforts, T3 is to be taken seriously.

Also id suggest against taking dnp to stave off the rebound.
Heres why, 2 years ago when i touched dnp for the first time my thyroid came back low after that cycle had ended. I might be able to find those bloods but dont hold ur breath on them. I hypothesize taking the dnp will only lengthen or delay the duration of ur rebound.

As for the 6 lbs i gained, im sure some of it was glycogen but i definitely put on some fat.

You might want to consider taking the yellow stuff simultaneously with the t3. Then when ur finished with the yellow taper off with the t3 while ur thyroid recovers. Try to split whatever amount u decide to taper off with into as many doses per day as u can. This study shows that levels returned to baseline at 12 hours.

I will be doing this next time and getting bloods again when i run dnp and t3 but that wont be for a while.
